The DESC Lab's latest in-the-works study is our HOME project. Our objective is to explore how parents nurture their toddlers abilities to cope, while navigating their own emotional responses during challenging situations. Specifically, our focus is on low- and middle-income families in Yolo County investigating how adept coping mechanisms and effective emotional management can serve as protective factors against the repercussions of financial difficulties. Many families encounter financial stress which impacts their emotional well-being and interactions with their loved ones. The HOME project aims to contribute to the well-being of families by uncovering strategies that enable parents and toddlers to navigate adversity and stress effectively. If you are a mother of a toddler ages 18- to 24-months-old located in Yolo County and are interested in taking part in this innovative research, please fill out this contact form and we look forward to working with you!
